Coolers for CHP

Before going into technical details of the heat exchangers used for this type of application you would like to define the meaning and purposes of the CHP. For cogeneration
means the simultaneous production and use of mechanical or electrical energy and heat from fossil or renewable fuels.

There are several types of plants grouped according to the characteristics of the prime mover (generator of electricity or mechanical).

We can identify four main types:

  • internal combustion engines, gas turbines

  • ;

  • steam turbines;

  • combined cycle gas turbine / steam turbine.

  • Besides these, we must mention the modern turbo ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle), steam turbines similar to those using body fluids such as hot oil, vaporized by the heat from a boiler fueled by biomass. After passing through the turbine, the organic liquid releases heat for heating purposes and, once cooled, it returns to the evaporator, thus realizing a closed thermodynamic cycle.

    The main purpose of a cogeneration plant is to increase energy efficiency and thus save on consumption in general by a 25 to 40% less

    The key to obtain thermal energy is the heat exchanger tube bundle and almost exclusively in stainless steel.
    exchangers ns. production for these plants have the following characteristics:

  • TIG welding of tubes on each plate for heat resistance up to 500 ° C

  • Use of dilators to coat to prevent thermal expansion effects on exchanger tubes

  • completely inspected , both on the shell side tubes for any type of maintenance

  • exchangers designed with HTRI computer program

  • Design 3D drawings

  • standard maximum operating pressure up to 10 bar with the possibility of building heat exchangers with pressure up to 300 bar

  • Leak Test on 100% of our production exchangers

  • Design PED certification with the issue.

  • Certified Company UNI EN ISO 9001:2008

  • century of experience in the manufacture of heat exchangers
